Many DJs want to use as many avenues as possible to promote their business and one of the ways to highlight your services is to use Social Networking sites like Facebook. The NADJ often gets calls and e-mails asking for help on this subject and through our contacts and knowledge base of professional DJs, we are usually able to help or point the member in the right direction.
When it comes to Facebook, the uninitiated may not know that there are some unwritten rules that pass as Facebook etiquette. There are also so many options and features within Facebook that it's easy for the new user to get confused. So, with the kind permission of Helen 'The Queen of Social Networking' Lee at Mastermix, we have bundled together some of her top tips and tricks on how to make Facebook work for you and how to do it without upsetting other users. These documents are in the 'Benefits' section of the NADJ website and if you follow the guidance from Helen, we are sure that you will be able to make a success of promoting your business through sites like Facebook. |

All members of the NADJ and their partners are formally invited the New Year Social Event that's being hosted by the Wales branch of the National Association of Disc Jockeys. DJs from across the country may still be finishing off the late Christmas parties in January, so the event is being held on Sunday 5th February 2012.
The NADJ Wales Party will be held at The Holiday Inn at The Coldra, Newport, NP18 2YG and the full NADJ National Committee will be at this event because there will be a National Executive Committee meeting the following day at The Holiday Inn. The party will also have some great educational content at the start with a master-class from Helen Lee on Social/Viral Networking and her husband, Richard, will be finding out what you want from Mastermix. There are talks of about a special Mastermix Wales CD with the help of our members. After the break for food, the social part of the night begins with the entertainment being provided by Richard Lee and the NADJ Chairman, Paul Arnett! |

One of the most important aspects of running an Association is the ability to listen to the needs and thoughts of the members. At a recent NADJ North West branch meeting, the DJs asked if there was a way of promoting the National Association of Disc Jockeys to potential customers. The NADJ Chairman, Paul Arnett, and the Branch Development Officer, Peter Lockwood, were both at that meeting and a discussion ensued on providing the materials for our members to highlight their membership to customers.
The outcome of that discussion led to the design of a new roller banner and matching leaflet that can be used at any event where one of our members wants to promote their services and membership of the NADJ. The team here at the NADJ worked on a new design concept, where the information promoted the DJ and their membership of the Association. You will see from the images on this page that there are no contact details for the NADJ because it's all about the promoting the DJ/member. The matching leaflet has a large area on the back to put a business card. |

Gary Job is well known throughout the DJ sector for his active involvement in promoting Denon equipment and being a great source of advice and help for DJs using Denon equipment. He's an Honorary Member of the National Association of Disc Jockeys and he's taking his Denon hat off with an appeal to our members to help him with his latest charity fundraiser.
Gary will be performing a 24-hour Danceathon from Sunday 19th February 2012 in Chippenham in Wiltshire. Gary is running the event to raise money for Cancer Research as Gary explains: "The Danceathon will be well-stocked with a still-increasing number of everyday people who are being sponsored for however many hours they felt that they could push themselves to achieve - be it 30 minutes, an hour, two hours, or the entire 24 hours! "I won't be dancing - I wouldn't want to scare the others away, but I will be single-handedly DJing for the entire 24 hours from start to finish." |
