Full NADJ membership now includes a £10m PLI policy.  Existing Full Members will get free cover with their current membership subscription and all new members also get a free CD from our supporting partners at CD Pool.

Here's what one of our newest members, Harjit Mahal of Paragon20 Roadshow, had to say: "I have been looking to join an Association for a while now and I have struggled to find anything that looks cohesive.

I saw your offer of £10m in liability cover and it just clicked with me that you guys are actually serious about what you do and I am sure that it is going to be a privilege to be a member!"

New members can visit www.cdpool.com and select the CD of their choice from their monthly releases (Hits, Radio, Remix, Dance, Club, Global, Underground or Urban).  This offer could save new members of the NADJ almost £22 and makes joining the Association outstanding value!

NADJ Member in Dreamflight Disco Challenge

One of our members has decided to put himself and his reputation to the test in aid of a children’s charity.

Darren Jeffs of Big Mix Mobile Disco aims to raise as much money as possible for the Dreamflight charity at a special fundraising event in November.  There will be a sponsored dance floor challenge and the DJ is looking for donations from local businesses.

The event takes place between 7pm-12am on Saturday 20th November 2010 at Daventry Leisure Centre.  Mr Jeffs will use his skills to create a fun and memorable evening, as he explains: "I was inspired by Dreamflight's idea that everyone deserves to have fun – no matter what age or condition they're in.

"Dreamflight allows seriously ill children to take the trip of a lifetime to Disneyland in Florida and for some, it turns their lives around.  They find they can become great achievers. It's all about loving life."

New NADJ Logo Launched
New Logo for the National Association of Disc Jockeys - NADJ

We are pleased to announce that the National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) has a new logo.  Feedback from our members and the Committee showed that the old logo looked dated and that it was in need of a revamp.

We listened to your comments and we have come up with a fresh, clean and crisp logo for the Association.  The NADJ has spoken to some of our members about the logo and the consensus is that it is a big improvement on the old design.  Early market research from prospective and current members showed that the new image was given the thumbs up.

The previous logo has been in use since the NADJ was formed as a national organisation for DJs in 2004.  Six years on and we were getting more calls for a revamp of the logo – we couldn’t ignore those remarks and we set about creating a new image for the organisation.

Stolen Disco & Band Equipment

The last thing a DJ wants to find is that their tools of the trade have been stolen and unfortunately that's what has happened to one of our members.

James Pemblington of Northern Lights & Sound is appealing for help from both fellow NADJ members, the DJ community and the wider entertainment industry.  He believes that on or around Saturday 21st August 2010, a trailer full of his equipment was stolen from Moorgreen Industrial Park in Eastwood, Nottingham.

As well as holding his disco equipment, the trailer also had his drum kit and a vital Animal mascot from the Muppet Show.

The Most Distrusted Professions

A recent poll has shown which professions are the most distrusted and following on from the recent expenses scandal, Politicians are take the top spot.  Fortunately, the research by the Co-operative Bank found that nobody in the entertainment industry was included in the top ten.

Many DJs and entertainers have criticisms of their colleagues from whatever area of the market they work in, but it's good to see that DJs and entertainers are not featured on the list.  However, is that just because we are only hired on a very infrequent basis or are DJs realising that they can take this industry seriously and make a living out of it?
